Very first IEM I tried on the Pyramid was the Voltage and right away I was hearing a higher resolving sound. But then I notice the stage elements for IEMs I have tested the Pyramid on sounds more spacious than they ever have. Don’t know if that is the effect of the burn in on the Pyramid but I figure it wouldn’t hurt to let it play music for a week. The specialty for the Pyramid has to be its ability to make a well imaged IEM into even a better imaging IEM. Sound elements get better space between notes which enhances the imaging you are perceiving when listening to your IEMs. The Pyramid does something that your normal conventional IEM cables just simply do not do. Perceived definition from trebles to the rumble of the bass note gets a nice shot in the arm. The highly resolving nature of the Pyramid seems to come through again and again.

Rest assured this Pyramid Cable offers world class detail and stage, robust imaging and emotional involvement that you could only get from a top notch cable. In addition to the few IEMs described here, I used the Pyramid Cable to achieve success with pretty much every IEM I joined it to, confirming fully such a tone is both amazingly well-rounded and easygoing.
Especially the new H60 was one tone I wanted to tell everyone about as it was so exciting. Literally the ISN H60 and Pyramid became a combination that I wanted to show strangers to where it bordered on the unbelievable. If you were wondering what would take the Penon/ISN H60 to the next level, look no more, as it is a combination that exudes magic and profound emotional satisfaction……. with any (and all) sources, plus with any ear-tip! Penon Pyramid is my favourite Penon cable so far, the one I’d choose for most of my IEMs.
Pyramid provides sumptuous refinement in which music flows effortlessly, yet still boosts IEM technical performance extremely impressively. Cables with great tonality aren’t rare, nor are those with great technicality, but cables that balance both without sacrificing either are to be cherished.
This is a very easy cable to recommend highly.

The pyramids are an excellent gateway to the uber buck cable land and what better way to do that than to get yourself the thick boy 6w or the ultimate 8w. I know I mentioned the 6w version to be a good balance of material bulk, looks and usability but this is the type of cable if you go with the 4w version. It will be very likely that you’re gonna be curious about the 6w version which in turn will be curious about the 8w version. Well don’t be, you will be more than fine with any of these cables as they will be what you’re seeing in a higher end cable to bring the very best sound from your IEMs. As I posted above about what additional material does for a cable’s sound. It was only a wish of mine to have double the cores for the 4w pyramid when I first did a review for it. It is now a reality and I have to admit I am smitten by both these cables.

Looking back I was a little hard on the original Pyramid cable. When in truth it is priced right, it is just the secret sauce added by those 2 extra wires is real and effective. As talked about earlier, it is added VI stage girth and density. I have spent 6 days with the Pyramid IV and back and forth side-by-sides to try and truly get a handle on what is up here. I’ve done a few days of IEM comparisons and a single day of cable side-by-sides, so I at least feel I have done my due diligence to get a handle on the VI. I look down at the extra 2 wires and it is hard to believe, but it is real. The thing that is real is the sound of any Pyramid cable, there is just a fluid set of transients that takes place? At least that is how I hear the original and the VI, I haven’t heard the Penon Pyramid VIII. There is a darker treble and not so silvery midrange that tells you it’s perfectly fine to listen to an alloy instead of pure silver. This creates a clarity of sounds not so jumbled up with any IEMs.

The Penon Pyramid 8 Wire sounds as big as it looks. This is a gargantuan cable that delivers a massive soundstage, crazy resolution and insane dynamics. What I particularly like is it does it without sounding excessively bright like so many silver-based cables.
If very thick & heavy cables don’t bother you, the 8W is an absolute no brainer. Even with IEMs that aren’t terribly precise, I can still easily hear the improved technical performance of the 8W version.
It’s technical performance that varies between them (hardware differences aside) and there’s no contest – the 8W is well ahead in many areas so if you’re already spending $350 I think an extra $150 is worth it.
Whereas you prioritise ergonomics, then stick with the 4W which represents an almost perfect sweet spot of being heavy enough to sound great, yet still light enough you’ll forget you’re wearing it.

Penon Pyramid is an amazing cable that surprised me from the very first minutes of listening. With it, music becomes alive, rich, and tangible: the bass can be felt with your body, the midrange is velvety and emotional, and the treble is transparent, light, and detailed. The soundstage unfolds with incredible breadth and depth, the instruments seem to take their place in space, and each note takes on meaning and weight. With each track, I felt like I was rediscovering familiar compositions; the sound became more mature, rich, and captivating. Pyramid creates a feeling of maximum immersion in the music, giving you control over every sound and making listening truly emotional and exciting.
